Mary Lynn Biggs

York – Mary Lynn (Heitzman) Biggs, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Saint Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Pastor Donald L. Biggs to whom she was married for 56 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at First St. John’s Lutheran Church, 140 W. King St., York, with her pastor, the Rev. Jim Driskell officiating. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Entombment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born October 31, 1934, in West Point, NE, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Holly and Adeline (Oelschlaeger) Heitzman. Mary had worked as a teacher, librarian, china consultant, employment manager, adult day care assistant, Sunday school teacher, and was devoted to her many congregations as a Pastoral wife. She was passionate about serving her community and was a patron of the arts appearing in North Eastern High School’s drama club during her retirement. She also loved photography and drawing. More than anything, she loved spending time with her five grandchildren. Mrs. Biggs is survived by two sons, David L. and wife Kathie Biggs of Easton, and Jonathan R. and wife Mary Ann Biggs of Freehold, N.J.; five grandchildren, Caitlyn, Myles and wife Claire, Danielle, Olivia and husband Richard McKay, and Jerica; and numerous family and friends.
