S. RENOVO - Mary Lou (Litz) Bratton, 79, of Renovo died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo. She was born May 18, 1934 in Renovo the daughter of the late Earl and Susan (Mills)Litz. Mary Lou was married on January 25, 1955 to James H. Bratton, Sr. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together. She was mainly a housewife over the years she worked part-time as a cook at Sockmans, Sutliffs Bar & Grill, Kingsleys, Sportsmans Hotel and Yesterdays. She graduated in 1952 from Immaculate Conception High School, Lock Haven. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo. Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, sewing, ceramics and reading. She served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Surviving are her loving husband two sons James H. Bratton, Jr. and Jason (Susan) Bratton both of Renovo also four daughters Cheryl McGowan of North Bend, Debra (Neal) Proctor of Bellefonte, Karen (Michael) Lowery of Westport and Sandra (Doug) Burrows of Renovo. Several grand children and great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter Tina Bratton in 1999 and a sister Barbara Schmoke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo with Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at North Bend Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church. (Improvement Fund) Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
