Mary Labadis

POTTSVILLE - Mary Labadis, 86, of Gilberton, died on Wednesday November 25, at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Gilberton on May 13, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella Andruscavage Labadis. She was a 1941 graduate of Gilberton High School. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Siluva Church. She was a current member of St. Joseph's Church, Frackville. For 48 years, she was employed by General Electric. She was a member of the Knights of Lithuania. She also spoke and wrote in fluent Lithuanian. Surviving Mary are: a godson, Gino Ricigliano; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by: a sister, Helen Labadis and a brother William Labadis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11 AM from the St. Joseph's Church, 14 N. Nice St., Frackville PA 17931. The Reverend J. Michael Beers will officiate. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville on Monday morning from 9:15 - 10:15 AM. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Siluiva Cemetery, Frackville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Saint Joseph's Church, 14 N. Nice St., Frackville, PA 17931.
