Mary L. (Young) Johnson

New Columbia - Mary L. (Young) Johnson, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was born May 15, 1923 in Kelly Twp. a daughter of the late John Ambrose and Bessie (Miller) Young. She was married on December 25, 1942 to George D. Johnson. Mary spent a majority of her time being a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowerbeds. She is survived by her husband, a son and daughter-in-law Daniel G. and Monica Johnson, of New Columbia, Three daughters and and sons-in-law; Christine and Thomas Snyder of New Columbia, Nancy and Terry Fox of Yorktown Heights, NY. Kathy and William Keefer of New Columbia. She is survived by six grandchildren; Charles and Lindsey Johnson, Thomas Jr. Snyder (wife Leslie), Jessica Snyder, Aaron and Ethan Fox. She was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Louise Johnson in 1950 and seven brothers; Myron, Chester, Myles, Donald, Charles, Samuel and Robert and also a sister Rebecca Iadarola. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 or to the charity of your choice. A viewing is to be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. With a service following. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery New Columbia.
