Mary L. Mickonis

Mary L. Mickonis Mount Carbon-Mary L. Mickonis, 73, of Mount Carbon, passed away Saturday at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia on December 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy Hogopian. Mary was a nurse's aide at Manor Care Nursing Home, Pottsville, for 27 years until she retired in 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Mickonis, who passed away in 1983; her two sons Joseph and Thomas Mickonis. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Helen Jefferson, wife of Kevin, of Mount Carbon and Rachel Mickonis, of Cheyenne, WY; her four grandchildren, Kevin Jefferson, Jr. Marcie Kertsmar, Thomas Mickonis and Joseph Mickonis; six greatgrandchildren, Austindale Jefferson, Alexandria Faith Jefferson, Matthew, Quentin, Connor, and Casey Kertsmar.
