Mary (Kearney) Flynn

AVOCA-Mary Flynn, 96, formerly of Avoca , died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Harmony Hall, Columbia, MD. Born in Avoca on July 31, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Pat and Agnes (Murphy) Kearney and was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Avoca. She was formerly employed by Pennsylvania Mutual Insurance Company for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Flynn, who passed away in 1991. Brothers, John, James and Tom Kearney; sister Anna Wren also preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughters, Geraldine Flynn, Columbia, MD and Ann Steller, Newburgh, NY; five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Avoca. Officiating will be Father George Croft. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca.
