Mary K. (Moyer) Leiby

MILTON - Mary K. (Moyer) Leiby, 97, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at River Woods Nursing Center, Lewisburg. Mary was born on December 16, 1913 in Milton and was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Verna (Stine) Moyer, Sr. She had graduated from Milton High School in 1931 and Bloomsburg University in 1933. On June 30, 1956, she married the late Myron F. “Dutch” Leiby who died on April 4, 1996 and celebrated 39 years as husband and wife before his death. Mary was a retired elementary school teacher from Curtain School, Milton. She was a member for over 60 years at Christ Lutheran Church, Milton and belonged to AARP. She enjoyed family, friends, reading, gardening and crossword puzzles. Mary is survived by one nephew; Graydon Moyer and his wife Amy of Milton, two nieces; Salinda Arthur and her husband Chester of Blacksburg, VA and Mary Moyer of Radford, VA, four great nieces; Rachel Haley, Kristina Samson, Sara Arthur and Joann Doyka and one great-great nephew; Jayden Haley. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Charles G. Moyer, Jr. in 2005. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Pat Pittsnogle will officiate the services. Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
