Mary Jane (Lindner) Walter

DANVILLE - Mary Jane (Lindner) Walter, 75, died on Monday, February 6, 2012 at River Woods Nursing Center, Lewisburg. Mary Jane was born in Lewisburg on October 18, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Charles Desmond and Nina R. (Roush) Lindner. She married the late Frederick C. “Fred” Walter on August 15, 1954 and celebrated 49 years of marriage before his death on December 17, 2003. Mary Jane was a graduate of Danville High School, class of 1954. She was a dedicated homemaker and had worked at her own beauty salon, Acme Markets, Milton Shoe Factory cafeteria for the Blind Association and Ames. She was a member of the Chillisquaque (Potts Grove) Presbyterian Church where she was the organist for over 50 years. She had also been the organist at Oakgrove Church and Mooresburg Methodist Church. She was always making sure that everyone was taken care of. Mary Jane is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Desmond C. “Des” Walter and Frederick E. “Fred” and Charity Walter, all of Danville, one daughter and her companion; Joy L. Walter Appleman and Pete Emery of Danville, four grandchildren; Brett Walter, David Walter, Amber Walter and Heather Walter, four great-grandchildren and two sisters and brothers-in-law; Doris and John Jordan and Charlotte and Brad Becker, all of Danville. There will be a public viewing from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church, Rte. 642, Potts Grove, PA 17865 with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Charles W. North, IV, CLP will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service,125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847.
