RENOVO - Mary Jane Johnson, 83 passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at her residence. She was born October 18, 1926 in Renovo a daughter of Clarence E. and Pauline (Shaffer) Harlan. On November 24, 1953 she married Thomas E. Johnson in Harrisburg by the Rev. L. B. Barton. She was a graduate of Renovo High School and Dickinson Junior College now Lycoming College. She worked as a teller at the Citizens Bank of Renovo which later merged with Commonwealth Bank and Trust Co., in 1973. She retired from Commonwealth Bank on May 31, 1987. Mary Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she assisted with the music, taught in the Sunday School Primary Dept., and was a Trustee and Financial Secretary for many years. She was also a choir member and assistant Treasurer. Mary Jane is survived by two daughters Cheryl L. Werner of Sacremento, CA and Polly A. Ranck and her husband Gary of Mt. Holly Springs, PA. She is survived by three granddaughters and one great-grandson. One brother William Harlan of Renovo. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband in 2007 a daughter Nancy Jane who died in infancy one brother Robert E. Harlan and two sisters Margaret O'Donnell and Winifred L. Betz. There are no funeral services planned. Burial took place at North Bend Cemetery, North Bend. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo.
