Mary Jane (Helms) Seal

TROY- Mary Jane (Helms) Seal, 77, of Elmira, NY, passed into the arms of her Lord on February 10, 2013 at ELCOR Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer. Family and friends are invited to call from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 719 Holdridge Street in Elmira, NY. A memorial service to celebrate Mary Jane's life will be held at 3 p.m. with her pastor, Rev. James R. Crupi, officiating. Fellowship time to follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Oak Hill Cemetery Troy, PA. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Troy, PA, has been entrusted with arrangements. Mary Jane was born on January 12, 1936 in Troy, daughter of the late Guy and Lena (Beatus) Helms. Mary Jane had a great sense of humor, loved crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking special birthday cakes. She especially enjoyed her most recent birthday party on January 12th. Mary Jane is survived by her four children: Judy Seal Snyder of Elmira, NY, Leonard (Vicki) Seal of New Braunfels, TX, Gay (Raymond) Arnold Hoffmeyer of Porte Vedre Beach, FL, and Gerri (Carl) Arnold Brink of Savona, NY; 11 grandchildren, 11 ½ great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; 7 older siblings; husband, Leonard Seal; and grandson, Jacob Leonard Snyder. Mary Jane worked for St. Joseph's Hospital for 20 years and has requested that all gifts in her memory be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 555 St. Joseph's Hospital Blvd., Elmira, NY 14901.
