Mary Jane Dalton POTTSVILLE- Mary Jane Dalton, 89, resident of Providence Place, Pottsville passed away Wednesday evening at Providence Place. Born in Mahanoy City on August 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Hanley Manion. She was a court stenographer at the Schuylkill County Courthouse and the PA Dept. of Welfare and Labor. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. She was a former member of the Schuylkill Country club and Fountain Springs Country Club where she was an avid golfer; member of the Pilot Club, Business and Professional Women's Association, Good Samaritan Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Advisory Board for the Schuylkill County Area Agency on Aging and a member of the National Court Reporters Association. She loved traveling and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Vincent J. Dalton, who passed away in July of 1973; her two Brothers, John J. and Harry P. Manion; her sister-in-law Mary E. Manion. She is survived by her two nieces, Mary Jo Barbaretta and Patricia Jones; her four great nephews, Matthew and Chris Barbaretta and Sean and Kevin Jones. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Schuylkill Unit, 14 North 4th St., Minersville, PA 17954.
