BROGUE - Mary Jane (Barnett) Manifold, 81, died on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Rest Haven. She was the wife of John C. Manifold. The couple had been married for over 58 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Born on December 6, 1930, Mary was a daughter of the late Floyd and Carrie (Atkins) Barnett. She started her career as a Registered Nurse at York Hospital and later worked private duty nursing. She finished her career with Philadelphia Electric Co. at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Manifold was a dedicated nurse. She enjoyed music and reading. Along with her husband, John, Mary is survived by two daughters, Teresa L. Hale and her partner, Robert Forrest of Red Lion and Lisa A. Manifold of Red Lion; two granddaughters, Jessica N. Hancock and Kristin R. Hale; two great granddaughters, Alicia R. Andrzejewski and Zaidee N. Hale; a brother, Alan Barnett and his wife, Elaine of Red Lion; a sister, Gail Carico and her partner, John Bair of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Barnett; and three sisters, Evelyn Barnett, Patty Barnett and Marguerite Hoffmaster. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 E. King St., York, PA 17401.
