Mary J. (Bland) Enders

YORK - Mary J. (Bland) Enders, 73 died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Manor Care-South. She was the wife of the late John R. Enders, Sr. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday March 13, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with pastor Richard B. Starr officiating. A visitation with family will be held from 12-1:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial is private at the request of the family. Mrs. Enders was born, February 29, 1936, in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late John and Charlotte (Lang) Bland. She was a graduate of Steelton High School. She was formerly employed as a Front End Associate at the Giant on East Market St. for over five years. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her family and friends. Mrs. Enders is survived by a son; John R. Enders, Jr. and wife Sandy of Harrisburg; two daughters, Darlene M. Goodling and husband Larry of York, and Charlene M. Craig and husband Gary of Stewartstown; three grandchildren, Brandon Porta and Alex Goodling, both of York, and Samantha Craig of Stewartstown; and a niece Vicki Pruzik. She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna L. Schmidt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403.
