Mary Evelyn (Whiteford) Seitz

YORK - Mary Evelyn (Whiteford) Seitz, 96, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at The Haven at Springwood. She was the wife of the late Arno L. Seitz to whom she spent 61 years of marriage. A Celebration of Life Tribute service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Rev. Joseph Seitz officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Seitz was born October 30, 1911 in Pylesville, MD a daughter of the late George Nelson and Sara Louise (Barton) Whiteford. After earning an Operator in a Beauty Shop license, she went on to own and operate Evelyn's Beauty Shop for over 36 years until her retirement at the age of 72. She enjoyed both cooking and crocheting. Mrs. Seitz leaves behind a daughter; Maxine S. and husband Dennis Mittel; a granddaughter; Rebecca C. and husband Andy Thompson; a step-granddaughter Tracy and husband Greg Mummert; two step-great-grandchildren; Maisie and Madison Mummert all of York; a sister Cora E. "Libby" Dellinger of Red Lion; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
