STEWARTSTOWN – Mary Ellen (Snelbaker) Stump, 86, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at York Hospital. She was the life companion of Theodore Filipiak and wife of the late Harry E. Stump, Jr. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Masks are requested to be worn inside the Funeral Home. Mary's Tribute Service will be webcast on her obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mary was born on April 1, 1935 in Manchester; a daughter of the late Mary A. (Biller) and Luther L. Snelbaker, Sr. Mary had great faith in the Lord and was a loving, warm, wonderful, and giving mother and companion. She was a member of the Society of Farm Women of PA, enjoyed playing her organ, cherished her friendships, and loved spending time with her family. Mary was a hard worker, successful at anything she tried, from selling Avon and Stanley Home products to working in both manufacturing and retail. Mary was especially proud of being an owner/operator at KHM Company, the family greenhouse business. In addition to her companion Ted, Mary is survived by five daughters, Karen Hayes and companion John Welsh of Hummelstown, Peggy Parthmer of Columbia, Beth and husband Keith Wright of Richmond, TX, Connie Leeds of Mechanicsburg, and Susan and husband JD Purvis of Hixson, TN; was honored to be Nana to 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and eight siblings, Luther Snelbaker, Jr. of Manchester, Betty Lou Emminger of York, Wayne and wife Deb Snelbaker of Dover, Patti and husband John Renfrew of East Berlin, Jay Snelbaker of Manchester, Larry and wife Patricia Snelbaker of York, Shirley Crone of Dover, and Judy Ewell of York. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Hall; and eight siblings, Clarence Snelbaker, Mae Zeigler, Emma Jane Sanger, Gertie O’Dell, Harold Snelbaker, Viola Kerrigan, Ray Snelbaker and Jimmy Snelbaker.
