Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Eidemiller

YORK- Mary E. (Smith) Eidemiller, 79, died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. She was the loving companion of William L. Miller. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Luther Memorial Church with her pastor, Elizabeth Polanzke officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Eidemiller was born on September 13, 1930 in York, a daughter of the late Levere and Margaret (Myers) Smith. Mary worked as a dispatcher for M & M Transportation and later as a nurse's aid. Ms. Eidemiller was an active member of Luther Memorial Church. Mary belonged to the Yorktown Senior Center and was a past member of the Women's Traffic Club of York. She also was the treasurer of the Young at Heart Club at her church. Along with her companion William Miller, Mary is survived by a daughter, Eileen Hevner and her husband, Jim of Dover; one granddaughter, Lori Clouser and her husband, Michael of Mechanicsburg; three great grandchildren, Samantha, Carlyn and Morgan Clouser; one brother, Clair Smith and his wife, Elva of York; and two sisters, Grace Northrop of Zanesville, OH and Justine Lewars of York. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Hevner and a brother, Howard Smith.
