Mary E. (Stambaugh) Weigerd Geise

YORK- Mary E. (Stambaugh) Weigerd Geise, 99, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at ManorCare Health Services North. She was the wife of the late Fred Weigerd and the late Robert Geise. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with her Pastor, The Reverend Patricia A. Snyder officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Jacobus. Born June 16, 1918 in York, Mary was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Naomi R. (Dittenhafer) Stambaugh. She worked at Green’s Dairy, Bear’s Department Store, and then as an examiner for Doespun until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Geise was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in York. She loved shopping, cross-stitching and spending time with her family and loved ones. Mrs. Geise is survived by a daughter, Jean Eck; two grandsons, Edward Eck and John Eck; three great granddaughters, Amanda, Ashlee, and Giulietta Eck; a niece, and a great nephew. Mary was also preceded in death by a sister and a nephew. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 West Market St., York, PA 17401.
