Mary E. (Sechrist) Waltemyer

York—Mary E. (Sechrist) Waltemyer, 98, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Normandie Ridge Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Woodrow W. Waltemyer. A Celebration of Life Service will be 5 PM, Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Manchester Court and Commons Chapel of Normandie Ridge, 1700 Normandie Drive, York. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York is in charge of arrangements. Born April 25, 1915 in Dallastown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin E. and Elsie N. (Stabley) Sechrist. She was a dedicated homemaker and talented seamstress, who had a life-long interest in birding. A faithful member of Aldersgate UMC, she enjoyed traveling overseas especially to the Caribbean. She was the best mother and grandmother, who always made sure her family was first in her life. Mrs. Waltemyer is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynn Kirk of York and Janice A. Urey of Mechanicsburg, one son, Jeffery J. Waltemyer of Allentown, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine S. Grahamslaw.
