Mary E. Schroeder

YORK – On Friday, August 5, 2022, Mary E. Schroeder, 98, passed away peacefully at ProMedica-North. She was the wife of the late John A. Beshore and the late Frank J. Schroeder. Born on March 31, 1924 in York, Mary was a daughter of the late Charles and Fannie (Bixler) Ensminger. She was a 1941 graduate of North York High School. Mary was a lifetime member of the Out Door Country Club where she participated in a nine-hole golf league, bridge groups and weekly dinners with her friends. Throughout the years, she was a member of many bridge, pinochle and 500 card clubs with lifelong friends whom she cherished. She was a faithful member of Messiah United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her two children, Thomas A. Beshore of York and Sue E. Shuff and husband David of York; two grandchildren, Jonathan S. Shuff and wife Nicole of Glenmoore, PA, Emily S. Ranaldi and husband Ronald of Hull, MA; three great grandchildren, Tanner, Colbie and Cameran; and nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held with her Pastor, The Rev. Randall Zeiler officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
