South Renovo - Mary E. O'Connor, 83 a former resident of Hyner passed away, Sunday morning, May 4, 2008 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo. She was born March 14, 1925 in Renovo the daughter of the late Harold & Mary (Green) Bissmann. Mary was married on November 29, 1945 to Terrence P. O'Connor who died in 1984. She was a home health aide who cared for many people in their homes for several years. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a former choir director and a former member of the Parent Teachers Organization. She was a graduate of Renovo High School and was active in the band. She enjoyed painting, sewing and drawing. Mary was a Civil Defense link for Western Clinton County and her handle on the C.B. radio was "Hiawatha". Surviving are one son Terrence D. (Linda) O'Connor of Hyner, three grandchildren Terry, Michael and Kristy also four great-grandchildren Baylee, Kayla, Taylor, Trey and an expected great-grandson in July. She is survived by one brother Harold Bissmann of Depew, N.Y. Three nieces Dora Wilson of Green Valley, AZ, Sandra Kurutz of Shintown and Ida Cornelius of Hyner. She was pre-ceded in death by a sister Gladys Stuart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Joseph Church, 925 Huron Ave., with Rev. Donald E. Boslett officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Bucktail Medical Center or St. Joseph Church. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
