Mary Ann Strayer

Spring Grove--Mary Ann (Albert) Strayer, 97, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 at Senior Commons at Powder Mill. She was the wife of the late Kurvin A. Strayer Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00AM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Steven Livermore. A viewing will be held from 9:00 – 10:00AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Prior to the service there will be Rites of the Order of the Eastern Star. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Born March 27, 1927 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Marquerite M. (Metzler) Albert.

She was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper with York Graphic Service for 44 years until her retirement in 1997.

A long-time and active member of Pleasureville Christian Church, she was also a member of the White Shrine Jerusalem – Sycher Shrine #36 and Order of the Eastern Star – White Rose Chapter 360. She was also the organist for her Eastern Star Chapter and when needed or often times requested, she would play for numerous other Eastern Star Chapters throughout York County. 

Mrs. Strayer is survived by her daughter, Melissa J. Fahringer and her husband, Robert of Spring Grove one granddaughter, Casey J. McDermitt and her husband, Brian of Spring Grove and one niece Donna L. Arndt.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasureville Christian Church, 2606 N. Sherman Street, York, Pa 17406.
