Mary Allene Thompkins

MILTON - Mary Allene Thompkins, 80, died on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Sun Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury. Mary was born on May 25, 1929 in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Allen and Emily (Pheonix) Thompkins. She was a graduate of Schenley High School, Pittsburgh. Mary had worked and retired after many years from Chef Boyardee and then had worked for Lewisburg Veterinary for ten years before retiring. She was a member of the St. Paul AME Church, Milton. She loved cats, arts and crafts, bingo, crocheting and fishing. Mary is survived by two nieces and their husbands; Jessie Richardson and James of Harvey, IL and Claudiette McEvoy and Thomas of Milton. There will be a memorial service held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the St. Paul AME Church, Willow Street, Milton with the Reverend Donald Spiller, Sr. Officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter or S.P.C.A. of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton.
