Mary A. Torok

Mary A. (DeMarte) Torok, 94, of Harrisburg passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Harrisburg. She was born September 2, 1916 in Renovo a daughter of Anthony and Christine (Bruno) DeMarte. Mary was married to Felix J. Torok who died in 1965. She retired from Piper Aircraft in Renovo. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past member of the alter rosary society. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy. Surviving are one daughter Cathy (John) Schminky of Harrisburg four grandchildren Paula (Michael) Glunt of Altoona, Lewis Legacy of Paducah, KY, Nicole (Gregory) DeLong of Kutztown and John Schminky of Springfield, CO also three great-grandsons Michael, Matthew and Wyatt. Several nieces and nephews she is also survived by a sister-in-law Gabrielle Torok of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ernestine Legacy in 1992 and great-granddaughter Makayla Glunt and five sisters Angeline Pizzino, Carmella Bochkay, Anna Marino, Frances Serafini and Madeline Rooney and a brother Francis DeMarte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 A.M., Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo with the Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church one hour prior to the mass. Interment will be at North Bend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church (Improvement Fund) 925 Huron Ave., Renovo, PA 17764 or the Catholic Daughters of America, Renovo. Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
