Mary A. (Stein) Stump

RED LION - Mary A. (Stein) Stump, 105, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA. She was the loving wife of Harry E. Stump, Sr., who passed away January 14, 1985. They celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary before his passing. Mary was born October 3, 1901 in Red Lion. She was the daughter of the late Moses E. and Minnie A. Stein. Mrs. Stump also worked at the Red Lion Cigar Factory for many years. She retired from the former Warner's Dairy in 1963 after 15 years of service. Following retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively, spending most winters in Yuma, Arizona. Mary was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion. Mrs. Stump is survived by three sons; Max R. Stump of Newville, PA, Palmer E. Stump of Fresno, CA, and Ned S. Stump of Reno, NV, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Harry E. Stump, Jr., five brothers, and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family. Viewing will be Noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul C. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Freysville Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Village, 100 Mt. Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, or to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Avenue, Red Lion, PA 17356.
