Mary A. Meyers

POTTSVILLE- Mary A. Meyers, 97, resident of Queen of Peace Apartments, Pottsville, passed away on Saturday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville on January 11, 1916, Mary was a daughter of the late Luke and Mary Zachar Zelinsky. Mary was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville. During the closing ceremonies of the closing of Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville, Mary had the honor of locking the door for the last time due to her being the eldest active parishioner of the church. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace’s Ladies Guild. Mary was most recently a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. An avid bowler, Mary was inducted to the Ladies Bowling Hall of Fame. Mary loved to play bingo and enjoyed traveling to the casinos in Atlantic City, NJ and several casinos in Pennsylvania on bus trips with her friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Meyers, who passed away February 14, 1997; her sister and her five brothers. Mary is survived by her daughter, Sally A. Dalvet, wife of Charles “Dusty” Dalvet, of Pottsville; her son William Meyers, husband of Kathleen, of Philadelphia; her 4 grandchildren; her 8 great grandchildren; her great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
