Martin Luther Beck, Sr.

YORK- Martin Luther Beck, Sr., 85, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. He was the wife of Anna Mae (Heiner) Beck. Services for Mr. Beck are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, PA 17408, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Beck was born on March 30, 1926, a son of the late Harry and Florence (Latchaw) Beck. He was a graduate of York High School. Martin worked for American Chain & Cable for over 38 years until his retirement. Mr. Beck served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the Navy Reserves as a Chief Petty Officer. Along with his wife, Anna, Mr. Beck is survived by a son, Martin Luther Beck, Jr. and his wife, Barbara L. of York; a daughter, Maria Lana Wood of York; four grandchildren, Scott E. Wood, Kelby P. Wood, Martin L. Beck III and John G. Beck; four great grandchildren, Rhianna Wood, Caitlyn Wood, Martin L. Beck IV and Tindell Beck; and a brother, Gilbert Beck of York. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Beck and Dean Beck; and a sister, Kay Beck. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of your choice
