DOVER- Martin A. Benedick, 77, died Wednesday December 16, 2009, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Ruth S. (Paules) Benedick to whom he was married to for 44 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday December 21, 2009 at Shiloh United Church of Christ with the Reverend David Danneberger officiating and Phillip Nace assisting. Viewings will be on Sunday December 20, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. on Monday at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Benedick was born on October 5, 1932 in York County, a son of the late Paul E. and Lottie A. (Crone) Benedick. Mr. Benedick worked as a cutter for various sewing factories in the area, most recently for Zero Restriction Golf Wear in Hellam where he retired in 2000. Mr. Benedick served our country for two years in the U.S. Army Mr. Benedick was a member of Shiloh U.C.C. for over 40 years. Mr. Benedick was also a clock manufacturer where he co owned The Clock Works. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling. He was an avid York High Basketball fan. Along with his wife, Mr. Benedick is survived by a son, Michael A. Benedick of York; and a brother, Jason S. Benedick of Newport, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N.
