HALLAM- Martha Lee (Mitchell) Johnson, 84, went to Glory to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Colonial Manor in York. She was the wife of the late Samuel Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was born in York on August 10, 1930, the daughter of the late James and Florie Mae (Saxon) Mitchell. She retired from Wellspan, where she was Home Care Giver. Prior to that, she worked for Pfaltzgraff Pottery, Teledyne McKay and the former Bayuk Cigar Factory. Mrs. Johnson was a sister, grandmother, friend, and a mother to many others as well as her own children. She was a kind and loving person and enjoyed giving to others. Mrs. Johnson leaves a daughter, Darla J. Lowe of Hallam; a son, Mark A. Mitchell and his wife Carolyn of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Delores Allen of York, six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews whom loved and cherished her as Aunt Mart and a host of friends whom also loved and cherished her as well. A daughter, Karen E. Holmes, a son-in-law, Ronald Lowe, and six brothers, James, George, Frederick, Fletcher, Joshua, and Robert Mitchell had preceded her in death. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 1:30-2:30p.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery in York.
