Martha I. (Chronister) Daniels

YORK - Martha I. (Chronister) Daniels, 93, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Patrick Daniels. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Holy Savior Cemetery, 3420 N Susquehanna Trail, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Dennis A. Hummel officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Daniels was born November 22, 1916 in Union Deposit, Dauphin County, a daughter of the late Jesse M. and Ella L. (Dentler) Chronister. She was a 1935 graduate of Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Daniels was a former Supervisor of Housekeeping for the York Lutheran Home for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church, York. Mrs. Daniels is survived by five children, Carole E. Linebaugh and husband, Frederick H. of York, Patricia A. Kilhefner and husband, Dennis L. of Dover, Michael J. Daniels and wife, Dorothy E. of York, Kay A . Kuhn and husband, Raymond E. of Jacobus, and Anna C. Daniels of York; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathryn L. Rodgers; two brothers; and one sister. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Daniels honor may be made to your favorite charity or organization.
