LINDEN - Marqueen S. (Smith) Williams, 82, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 after a short stay at Rose View Center, Williamsport. She was born September 21, 1930 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Edwin William and Bernice Elenor (Calvert) Smith. Marqueen was a graduate of the Williamsport High School, and then went on and graduated from Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing, Class of1951. She married Robert G. Williams on July 14, 1951 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. As a Registered Nurse, Marqueen worked at Williamsport Hospital and retired after 30 years. Marqueen was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, Mrs. Long’s Sunday School class at the church, a charter member and past president of Newberry Lioness club and a volunteer driver for North Central Sight Services. She enjoyed collecting angels, traveling with her husband and reading her bible twice every day. In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by 3 sons and one daughter-in-law; Wayne D. Williams of Williamsport, Robert S. and Nancy Williams of Monkton, MD and Randy E. Williams of Lindon, one daughter; Robin E. Williams of Williamsport, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Esther Ford of Pittsburgh and Vickie and Harry Stiner of Loyalsock. Along with her parents, Marqueen was preceded in death by two brothers; Clair William and Walker Romaine Smith. At Marqueen’s request, her remains will be cremated and there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
