Marley A. Becker

Red Lion--Marley A. “Butch” Becker, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Janet L. (Fauth) Becker. They celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 15, 2022. Born June 2, 1932 in Glen Rock, he was a son of the late Roye and Miriam (Anstine) Becker. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Attended Red Lion High School, class of 1950 and graduated Penn State University in 1957. He was employed as a structural engineer with Caterpillar for 25 plus years until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Becker was active in Red Lion for several years as a part of the Red Lion Borough Council, Red Lion Cemetery Board member, a member of the Red Lion Jaycees and member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with family in Florida. In addition to his wife, Mr. Becker is also survived by one son, David Becker and wife, Rebecca of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Owen Becker and Tess Becker; one sister, Nancy Becker of Red Lion and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Frances, Madaline, Vivian, Cearon, Rowe and Shirley. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be 11AM, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Red Lion Cemetery. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Daniel M. Yeiser. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
