YORK - Marlene J. (Krout) Morton, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late James T. Morton, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, PA 17313. Prior to the service there will be a viewing from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
Born December 19, 1935 in York, Marlene was a daughter of the late John and Anna Mary (Chronister) Krout. Mrs. Morton was a graduate of William Penn High School class of 1953, and for many years served on the class reunion committee. She was also a life time member of Codorus Church of the Brethren, and over the years helped cook numerous meals for the church attendees. Marlene loved her Tuesday breakfasts with the other church members at Lion's Pride Restaurant, and will always cherish her lunches with the Loganville girls. In the fall, Marlene was known to bake a fantastic pumpkin bread, that she would share with all of her friends and family. She also deeply loved her family, and would never forget a birthday.
Marlene is survived by four children, Rich Morton, Scott Morton, Janis Morton, and Beth Weymer (Mrs. Richard); eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. In addition to her husband and parents, Marlene is preceded in death by a son, John L. Morton; a grandson, Zach E. Morton; and three siblings.
