Red Lion - Marlene E. Stein, 68 died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Calremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle, where she received exceptional care. A Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 17, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, The Rev. Kenneth R. Gibson officiating. A visitation will be held 1-2:00 P.M. Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Marlene was born July 19, 1940, in Red Lion, a daughter of the late Elwood E. and Jessie C. (Hershner) Stein. Marlene graduated Red Lion High School in 1958 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where she served our country for four years until she was honorably discharged. She then spent a short time in Alexandria, VA before moving to Florida for most of her life. While in Florida, Marlene worked as a Massage Therapist, a licensed Realtor, and a Personal Housekeeper, which she continued to do when returning to York at the Hampton Inn. Marlene was known to be very adventurous and she also loved animals, especially cats. Marlene leaves a brother, Morris E. Stein of Lancaster; a sister, Margo E. Stein of Harrisburg; numerous cousins; and friends in both Florida and Red Lion. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, many aunts and uncles; and some cousins. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17402, or Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
