YORK – Mark Duane Spicer, Sr., 57 passed away Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at his residence of natural causes. He was the loving husband of Nancy Rae (Martin) Spicer, to whom he was married 25 years; and the dedicated father to Mark Duane Spicer, Jr., age 24. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 15th at Freedom Biker Church York, 2550 Pine Grove Rd. York, PA, with Pastor Jim Quoss officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, PA is in charge of arrangements. Born January 1, 1960 in Baltimore, MD, Mark was a son of the late Otis and Gladys (Wallace) Spicer. He worked as a loan officer at Spring Leaf Financial Services and OneMain Financial for 25 years until his retirement in 2017. Mark was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the WAGO Club, and ABATE. He was a Lifetime Veteran Charter Survivor of the CCSC Lodge, Inc. Mark served as President of the United Clubs of York County. He also served on the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer for the Pennsylvania Federation of Fraternal & Social Organizations. In addition to his wife, Nancy, Mr. Spicer is survived by a son, Mark D. Spicer Jr. and his wife Lynsey of New York City; a brother, Wayne Spicer of New Oxford; a sister, Linda J. Mettee and her husband Mike of Dover, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Contributions may be made to Freedom Biker Church York located at 2550 Pine Grove Rd., York, PA.
