Mark Allen Moyer

RED LION - Mark "Pap" Allen Moyer, 66, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus after a brief but hard-fought illness on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at York Hospital with family by his side. Mark leaves behind his daughter, Kelli Kopp and her husband Scott; two grandchildren, Austin Scott and Mason Allen Kopp; his mother, Patricia Moyer; two brothers, Kim Moyer and wife Cindy and Steven Moyer; a niece, Katie Moyer; nephew, Kole Moyer and wife Stacey and sister-in-law, Crystal Moyer; three grandcats, Abby, Ziva and Cheerio; a granddog, River; as well as numerous "adopted" nieces and nephews and his Fire Family. He was preceded in death by his father Ernest E. Moyer, along with numerous aunts and uncles. Mark, or "Pap" as he was known, was born December 29, 1954 to Ernest E. and Patricia M. (Barley) Moyer. Raised in Red Lion, PA, he was a 1973 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School. Mark was employed at Novares as a Supervisor, where he had worked for at least 35 years. In his younger years he bowled in many leagues at Lion Bowl, where he once bowled a perfect 300 game. He enjoyed playing league softball and volleyball. A Life Member of Alliance Fire and Rescue and formerly Leo Independent Fire Engine Company No. 1; he served multiple positions over his 27 years of volunteering, most times with his daughter right by his side: Firefighter, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, FADO, Trustee and Director of the Board. When not fighting fires, he enjoyed trips to Hollywood Casino where he hit the jackpot several times. Although, as anyone who knew Mark will tell you, his favorite way to spend his free time was with the loves of his life, his daughter and two grandsons. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, June 7, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Jay McWilliams officiating. A viewing will be held from 3-5:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Full Firefighter Funeral Honors will be presented by Alliance Fire and Rescue Services.
