York Township- Marjorie E. "Margie" (Roseberry) Hopple, 67, of York went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her residence. She was the wife of Donald E. Hopple, Sr. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26th. A Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Turnpike Baptist Church, 519 S. Main Street in Shrewsbury. Her pastor, The Reverend William Walker will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. The pallbearers will be Richard Laws, Ronald Rohrbaugh, Brent Rohrbaugh, Carroll Roseberry, Bruce Krebs, Cris Williams and honorary pallbearer Gregory Gilberthorp. Margie was born in Baltimore, MD on July 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Carroll W. Roseberry, Sr. and the late Mary (Kiser) Roseberry. She retired in January of 2001 after 35 years for York Johnson Control, formerly Borg-Warner and York International Corporation as an International Customer Service Representative/ Sales. Margie was a 1960 graduate of Susquehannock High School. She was a member of Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury, York Johnson Control 25 Year Continuous Service Club, and Jefferson AARP Group #3699. After her retirement she became a member of the "Happy Home Singers" and visited local nursing homes to sing. Her favorite past time was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and her family and friends. Margie leaves a son, Donald E. Hopple, Jr. and his wife Melody of York; three grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaitlynn Hopple of York and Jessica Beard of York; two brothers, Gary Roseberry, Sr. and his wife Diane of Cummings, GA and Barry Roseberry of York; two sisters, Ruby Williams and her husband Glenn of York and Lorie Mitzel of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Carroll W. Roseberry, Jr., preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Center, Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., York, PA 17403, or VNA/Hospice, 218 E. Market Street, York, PA 17401.
