YORK – Marion (Worsham) Tracy, 92, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at The Haven at Springwood. A public visitation will be held from 2-3:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Following the visitation a private family service will be held with The Rev. Dr. Gregory Seckman officiating. Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Born July 19, 1919 in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late James P. and Annie (Land) Worsham, she was a graduate of George Washington High School in Danville and Longwood College in Farmville, VA. Mrs. Tracy was a substitute teacher for 20 years in York Suburban School District. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority; White Rose Guild; Ladies Auxiliary and former board member of the Birdcage Gift Shop at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital; Daughters of the American Revolution; and Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she served as an Ordained Deacon and Sunday school teacher since 1957. Mrs. Tracy was also an avid reader and gardener, college and NFL football fan, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Tracy is survived by a daughter, Kay T. Bowman of York; three sons, James W. and wife Carolyn Tracy of Sterling, VA, William A. and wife Rebecca Tracy of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Robert C. and wife June Tracy of Seven Valleys; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany, Tracy, James, Andrew, Shannon, Mackenzie, Sean, Lauren, Ryan, and Justin; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Hope and husband Neil Zipp of Ft. Worth, TX and Anne Bruce and husband Bobby Johnston of Mesquite, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James P. Worsham, Jr. and a sister, Charlotte Worsham Griffith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Rd., York, PA 17402 or to York Cancer Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
