Marion Andrea Wirschal

ELLICOTT CITY, MD- Marion Andrea Wirschal, 54, died on Thursday, October 13, 2022 in Marriottsville, MD.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend Paula Murray officiating. A viewing will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. The service will be webcast at HeffnerCare.com around 3 p.m. by searching Marion's obituary. Burial will be in Mt Rose Cemetery at a later date.

Born on February 8, 1968 in Montreal, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Helmut H. and Eva A.K. (Hedler) Wirschal. Marion was a Risk Manager and Compliance Practitioner for Accenture Federal Services since August of 2012. Prior to that, she worked for University of Maryland where she received two Master's degrees.

Marion loved her beautiful German Shepherd, Clio, learning new things, travel, and her family. She passionately advocated for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, reduced insulin costs, an end to heart disease and animal rescues.

Marion is survived by two sisters, Karen Wirschal of York and Kerstin Lane of York; four uncles, Manfred Wirschal, Guenter Wirschal and his wife, Trudel, Alfred Vetter and Helmuth Treichel and his wife, Uschi, all of Germany; nieces, Melissa Lane of Myrtle Beach, SC and Anna Wirschal of York; nephews, Mark Lane and his wife, Krystal of York and Matt Lane and his wife, Shannon and the baby they are expecting of York; and cousin, Gernot Wirschal of Germany. She was preceded in death by her great nephew, Nicholas Tek.
