YORK- Marilou (Bradshaw) Sterling, 77, of Manchester Township, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Spirit Trust Lutheran on Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of Richard M. Sterling. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on January 12, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Rd. in York. The Reverend Timothy L. Shuey will be officiating at the service. Visitations will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be private in Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Mrs. Sterling was born in Ewell, Somerset County, MD on December 6, 1938 the daughter of the late J. Wilroy and Ruth Virginia (Smith) Bradshaw. Mrs. Sterling was a member of York Alliance Church. She was a 1956 graduate of Chrisfield High School in MD and received an associates’ degree in medical transcription from Buck’s County Community College. She had significant culinary skills, enjoyed gardening, golfing, travelling, the ocean, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Outdoor Country Club. Along with her husband, Richard, Mrs. Sterling leaves a son, Steven R. Sterling and his wife Doreen of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Diane S. Maguire and her husband, Robert of Crystal Lake, IN; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David A. Sterling and a sister, Donna Jean Laird.
