RED LION – Marie (Sechrist) Seitz, 97, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Carl E. Seitz, who entered into rest February 2, 2009, having shared 62 years of marriage. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 5, 2015 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 West Broadway, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Ron Doverspike officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. She was born in Windsor on January 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Noah G. and Bertha I. (Arnold) Sechrist. In her younger years she was very involved at Grace E.U.B. in Windsor where she also served as a Girl Scout Leader. Marie graduated with honors from Red Lion High School in 1936 and began working at the Red Lion Cabinet Co. and later at the former Flinchbaugh Products as a secretary, excelling in typing and shorthand. She volunteered for many years at Manorcare Dallastown, and also belonged to the BPW, Historical Society, card clubs, and was very involved with her Sunday school class at Bethany Church. Marie will always be remembered as a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Jane Love (Jeff); three grandchildren, Daron Smith (Darlene), Tony Smith (Sabree), and Kristen Blouse (Brad); six great grandchildren, Kelsie Coats, Mitchell, Travis, and Kye Smith, Deena and Nathan Blouse; one great great granddaughter, Sophie Johnson; nieces and nephews; and a brother in law, Verlyn McCleary. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Sechrist; two half brothers; and one half sister. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany U.M. Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356.
