YORK - Marie Louise Brenneman, of York, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at The Haven at Springwood. She was the wife of the late William E. Brenneman with whom she was married 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Gertrude Stough. Marie graduated from William Penn Senior High School. She began a banking career at the former York Bank & Trust Co. She was employed by Dentsply for several years. She returned to banking and worked for the former Dauphin Deposit Bank from which she retired. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of York. Marie served on the election board of York Township as a judge of election and majority inspector. She was a member of Christian Woman’s Club of York. Marie was a former member and past president of The Pilot Club of York. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Marie enjoyed sewing. Quilting, antiquing and reading. Her passion was spending time with family and friends. She loved entertaining at her beach home in Pot Nets, Rehoboth, DE. Marie is survived by a daughter, Sharon Myers and husband, Scott; a son, William Brenneman and wife, Denice; four grandchildren, Daniel Myers, Lisa (Myers) Sturiano and husband, David, Seth Brenneman and Lauren Brenneman; four great grandchildren Giada, Dominic and Mia Myers and Elyse Sturiano; a brother, Paul Stough; two sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Philip Stough. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2020 with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York. Marie and her late husband, William will be buried together at 12:00 noon with Military Honors for William provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York is in charge of arrangements.
