Marie Jane Kleiser

YORK – Marie Jane (Gebert) Kleiser, 86, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran. She was the loving wife of Clair E. Kleiser, Sr. to whom she was married for 66 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church of York, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York with her pastor, The Rev. Janyce Jorgensen officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. A White Shrine of Jerusalem service will be held in the Narthex immediately prior to the Lutheran funeral service in the sanctuary. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 23, 1931 in York a daughter of the late Norman J. and Ida (Cummings) Gebert, she was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Jane retired from the York County Planning Commission in 1993 with 23 years of service. Mrs. Kleiser was a Past Worthy High Priestess of Sychar Shrine #36, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and a member of York Chapter #169 Order of Eastern Star. She is also a Past Bethel Queen and majority member of Bethel #1 of York and Order of Jobs Daughters International. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church of York where she was a member of the choir for many years. In addition to her husband, Clair; Jane is survived by two daughters, Elaine Mann and husband Edward Mann, Jr., Stephanie Hess and husband Ronald; a son, C. Eugene Kleiser, Jr. and fiancée Debbie White; two grandsons, Stephen Hess and wife Nicole and Aaron Hess and wife Lindsey; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the music department of Zion Lutheran Church of York.
