Marie C. (Lindrose) Hagens

YORK- Marie C. (Lindrose) Hagens died on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late Fred G. Hagens, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend Edward J. Rowand officiating. Visitations will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Marie was born on July 17, 1932 in Nanty Glo, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Ross) Lindrose. Marie worked as a secretary for the York County Treasurers Office as well as B.M. Root Co. and Hagens Electric. Marie was a member of the Rohler's Assembly of God in Dover and the York Alliance Church. She was involved with the Christian Women's Club and the Alliance Women. Marie was also a member of the Keystone VHF Amateur Radio Association, call sign N3BSM and went by the nickname "Big Sassy Mama". She also was an avid outdoorswoman. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and spending time with her family. Marie is survived by two sons, Fred G. Hagens, Jr. of Wrightsville and Greg A. Hagens of Dover; two daughters, Sandra M. Landis and her husband, Tom of Dover and Nadine F. Diehl and her husband, Duane of York; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Lindrose of Nanty Glo, Ronald Lindrose of Johnstown, and Larry Lindrose of Nanty Glo; one sister, Donna Goldsmith of Brandywine, MD.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a sister, Arlene Monborne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, 1006 Rowena Dr., Ebensburg, PA 15931 or Rohler's Assembly of God, 761 Rohler's Church Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
