Marie C. (Eckenrode) Yinger

LEWISBERRY – Marie Catherine (Eckenrode) Yinger, 87, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Grant J. Yinger, to whom she was married since 1953. A funeral service will be held in conjunction with her daughter, Rhonda A. Yinger-Mariano’s memorial service at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Lewisberry United Methodist Church, 309 Market Street, Lewisberry. A public viewing will be held from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Thursday as well. Reverend James Winters, Sr. will be officiating the services. Marie’s burial will immediately follow the service at St. John’s Lewisberry Cemetery. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, PA 17339 is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Yinger was born on September 3, 1925 in York, PA. She was the daughter of the late Chester R. Eckenrode and Catherine (Beck) Eckenrode. She graduated from William Penn High School. She was employed over the years at York Telephone Co., and the Yinger General Store, as well as being a homemaker. She had been a member at the Lewisberry United Methodist Church. Marie also loved gardening. In addition to her husband, Grant, she is survived by two sons: Galen A. and Terry R. Yinger, both of Lewisberry; a granddaughter, Alyce; a great granddaughter, Analise; a brother, Arthur Eckenrode, of York; and a nephew Bill Eckenrode, of York. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; a brother, William Eckenrode; and her step-father, Edgar Eisenhart. Her daughter, Rhonda A. Yinger-Mariano, anteceded her in death by a few short hours after Marie’s passing.
