Marian (Wood) Fethers

WELLSBURG- Marian (Wood) Fethers, 79 of Waverly, NY passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Elderwood Nursing Center in Waverly, NY surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer S. Fethers, Sr. who passed away in 1981. The couple married in 1953 and had 28 happy years together. Marian was born on October 5, 1933 in Wilawanna, PA daughter of the late Merton and Pauline (Bartett) Wood. She worked maintenance for the New York Department of Transportation and was a member of the Bentley Creek Baptist Church. Marian was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. Marian is survived by her sons: Elmer S. “Sam” (Barbara) Fethers, Jr. of Lansing, NY, and Gary (Christina) Fethers of Auburn, NY, her daughters: Cynthia (Jeff) McLaughlin of Lockwood, NY, Catherine (Steve) Brown of Waynesboro, TN, Debra Jayne of Auburn, NY, and Vicki Miller of Waverly, NY, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Raymond (Ann Marie) Wood of South Waverly, PA, James (Mary) Wood of Wellsburg, Ny, William Wood of Corning, NY, and her sisters Betty (Willis) Edger of Ulster, PA, Virginia (Bill) Guenup, Patrica (Gene) Freeman of Bentley Creek, PA, and Susan (Steve) Peral of Boston, MA, along with several nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer, her son Martin Fethers, and her sister Carolyn Wood. Services will be private and at the convenience of Marian’s family.
