Marian L. (Quickel) Henry

York—Marian L. (Quickel) Henry, 91, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. A Graveside Tribute will be 11 AM, Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Quickel’s Cemetery, 60 Canal Rd Ext, York, in Conewago Township. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Douglas Miller. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born September 13, 1921 in Saginaw, MI, she was a daughter of the late David M. and Jennie E. (Heltzel) Quickel. She was employed with York Casket Company as a laborer for 20 years until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren and fishing with them in Ocean City. An avid Baltimore Orioles, she also attended Bermudian Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Henry is survived by a daughter, Joyce M. Weaver and husband, Sahlor of Lititz, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; one brother, David Quickel Jr; one sister, Grace Geisler and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, 118 Pleasant Acres Rd, York, PA 17402.
