Marian L. Bierman

POTTSVILLE - Marian L. Bierman, 87, of Minersville, died Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. Born in Minersville, May 5, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Winfield and Marian Patterson Myers. On Sept. 5, 1947 she married the late Ronald G. Bierman, who died Aug. 17, 1995. Marian was formerly employed as a waitress at the Coney Island and Club 18. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottsville. Marian faithfully read her Bible every day. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. In addition to her parents and husband of 47 years, Marian was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Gary Bierman; two brothers, Harold and Winfield Myers. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by four sons, Richard Myers and his wife, Kathy, Schuylkill Haven, Dennis Bierman, Minersville, Mark Bierman and his wife, Dolores, Minersville, and Jeff Bierman and his wife, Patrice, Phoenix Park; seven daughters, Carole Poslosky, Pottsville, Barbara Rauch and her companion, Joseph Walters, Minersville, Jackie and her husband, Clifford Helterbran, Pottsville, Deborah Karlavage, Mahanoy City, Sandra and her husband, Paul Wilner, Mahanoy City, Jane Kovach and her companion, Ted Poltowski, Cressona and Gene and her husband, Bernard Smitrovich, Cottonwood, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Beckett, Frackville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville, with the Rev. Storm Hutchinson officiating. Family and friends may call the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
