Marguerite E. Karichner, 87, of 613 E. Park Street, Lock Haven passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at her residence. She was born December 6, 1925 in Metz, France the daughter of Augusto and Marguerite (Schlanger) Jenner. She came to America after her marriage to Carson Robert Karichner on June 6, 1946 who preceded her in death in September 1996. She became a United States citizen on June 19, 1958 and was employed by the Keystone Central School District. She enjoyed traveling to France to visit her sisters and in later years her nieces and nephews. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed gatherings with friends and family. Marguerite lived thru the hardest of times as she survived living in Europe during World War II; she was a kind and a very loving person and will be sadly missed by all family and friends. She enjoyed raising her six children James (Linda) Karichner, Charles (Elaine) Karichner of Mill Hall, Hedy Englert of Woolrich, Rose (Joseph Quiggle) Smith of Castanea, Robert Karichner of Titusville, FL and Marguerite “Peg” (Dave) Rickert of Salona. 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchidren and 22 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by two sisters Hedy (Adolph) Perquin and Marie (Jacques) Ehl of Metz, France. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Dunnstown Cemetery. Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall, has charge of arrangements.
