YORK- Margaret S. (Hovis) Geiselman, 96, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Country Meadows of York- South. She was the wife of the late William H. “Bill” Geiselman. The couple celebrated 70 years of marriage prior to Bill’s passing in 2011. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Reverend Dr. Leon C. Via III of Country Meadows of York- South, officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born December 17, 1919 in York, Margaret was a daughter of the late Arthur and Margie (Gotwalt) Hovis. She worked in receiving for McCrory’s Distribution until her retirement in the 1980’s. Mrs. Geiselman was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jacobus. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, bowling and flea markets. She loved her family, especially sending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Geiselman is survived by a son, Gary L. Geiselman of York; two daughters, Janice K. Bortner and her husband Gregory of Jacobus and Judy A. Pantano and her husband Mickey of Jacobus; four grandchildren, Carmine Pantano and his wife Betsy, Philip Pantano and his wife Ashley, Jason Bortner and his wife Megan and Shannon Werner and her husband Bryan; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Queena Waltersdorff of Melbourne, FL, and two sisters-in-law, Marian Hovis of York and Hilda Hershner of York. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Geiselman, a brother, Arthur Hovis, Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Keener. The family would like to offer a special thank you to compassionate and caring staff of both Country Meadows Pathways Progarm and Grane Hospice.
