Margaret Rose (Burley) Failing

New Cumberland Margaret Rose (Burley) Failing, 89, formerly of Shippensburg, PA passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Country Meadows Retirement Community, Mechanicsburg. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. She was the second daughter of the late Erwin and Emma (Whitehead) Burley, born in Bath, NY on August 27, 1921. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Franklin H. Failing; and her sister, Loretta Clark of Bath. Mrs. Failing was retired from the Country Store in Biglerville, PA. Margaret was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Arendtsville, PA. She belonged to various bowling leagues in Bath, NY where she lived for over 50 years. She was a huge Phillies fan and followed them closely. Surviving are a son, Franklin L. and wife Annette Failing of Lewisberry; two grandchildren, Kimberly and husband David Deibler of York Haven and Christopher and wife Judy Failing of Etters; three great grandsons, Nicholas Deibler, Spencer and Aiden Failing; a brother in law, Harry and wife Judy Failing of Dunnellon, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Her family meant the world to her. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Connections Unit of Country Meadows and Celtic Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to our mother.
